History

A Broadcast Rooted in Firsthand Experience

The Public Square® began in 1989 with one five-minute program on a single radio station in Ohio. Today The Public Square® Media Network produces multiple radio programs heard every day with markets stretching coast to coast.

The Public Square® is not talk radio. It is “walk radio” built upon the ongoing life experiences of a multi-generational team that has spent decades in the field working on public policy matters. Creating legislation, conducting ballot issue campaigns, working with potential and incumbent lawmakers and judges, bringing cases from county courtrooms to the Supreme Court, and hosting one of the most innovative online election sites in America—the broadcast team lives in the field and then comes to the studio to share experiences.
